New on Hulu September 2024: Movies, TV, and Originals

The Hulu September 2024 premiere schedule has been announced and can be viewed below. The streaming service has also revealed the titles that will leave next month.

The Hulu originals for the month include Child Star, How to Die Alone, In Vogue: The 90s, Little Miss Innocent, Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal, Tell Me Lies Season 2, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and She Taught Love.

FX titles American Sports Story, English Teacher, Grotesquerie, The Oldman Season 2, and Social Studies are also coming in the month of September.

English Teacher: Series Premiere (FX – Streaming September 3)
FX’s English Teacher is a comedy series created by Brian Jordan Alvarez, in which he stars as “Evan Marquez,” a high school teacher in Austin, Texas, who often finds himself at the intersection of the personal, professional, and political aspects of working at a high school.

Tell Me Lies Season 2 Premiere (Hulu Original – Streaming September 4)
“Tell Me Lies” Season Two picks up as Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) return to college, not speaking after their dramatic breakup at the start of the summer. Yet, while very much at odds, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic – which is as infuriating as it is inescapable. Meanwhile, the story expands deeper into the lives of Lucy and Stephen’s friend group, as the fallout from Season One impacts all of their lives in unexpected ways.

Universal Basic Guys: Series Premiere (FOX – Streaming September 9)
From creators Adam and Craig Malamut (Sports Friends, Game of Zones, The Champions), Universal Basic Guys centers on brothers Mark and Hank Hoagies, who, after losing their jobs at the hot dog factory to robots, are given $3,000 a month in a new basic income program. Now, they’re using their free time and free money to find purpose in a world where they’re no longer needed.

The Disappearance of Shire Hite (2023 – Streaming September 10)
Based on Shere Hite’s bestselling book, The Hite Report, the film is narrated by actress Dakota Johnson and follows the life of American-born German educator and feminist Shere Hite.

The Feeling That The Time for Doing Something Has Passed (2023 – Streaming September 13)
A mosaic-style comedy following the life of a woman as time passes in her long-term casual relationship, low-level corporate job, and quarrelsome Jewish family.

How to Die Alone: Series Premiere (Hulu Original – Streaming September 13)
“How to Die Alone” follows Mel, a broke, fat, Black JFK airport employee who’s never been in love and forgotten how to dream until an accidental brush with death catapults her on a journey to finally take flight and start living by any means necessary.

In Vogue: The 90s: Docuseries Premiere (Hulu Original – Streaming September 13)
The series tells the definitive story of the fashion industry in the 1990s through the eyes of Vogue editors Hamish Bowles, Edward Enninful, Tonne Goodman, and Anna Wintour. Packed with some of the most influential names across fashion, film, and politics, “In Vogue: The 90s” is a thrilling journey across continents and through ten years that changed fashion forever: Hollywood, Grunge, The Met Gala, the globalization of American fashion, and Hip Hop. Each episode in this six-part series centers on a defining 90s moment.

The Old Man Season 2 Premiere (FX – Streaming September 13)
In Season 2 of FX’s The Old Man, former CIA agent “Dan Chase” (Jeff Bridges) and former FBI Assistant Director “Harold Harper” (John Lithgow) set off on their most important mission to date — to recover “Emily Chase” (Alia Shawkat) after she is kidnapped by “Faraz Hamzad” (Navid Negahban), a powerful Afghan tribal leader. With all three men claiming her as their daughter, Emily finds herself in an identity crisis that has dire implications.

As Chase and Harper fight their way to get to Emily, Hamzad is forced to make decisions that could endanger his family and the village he has led faithfully for a lifetime. “Khadija” (Jacqueline Antaramian), Hamzad’s sister and trusted advisor, is concerned about the path her brother has taken and what it will cost them.

As the stakes get higher and more secrets are uncovered, “Zoe McDonald” (Amy Brenneman) makes surprising moves after having been drawn into a new world by Chase. Meanwhile, “Julian Carson” (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is disillusioned by his former role and finds himself at a crossroads with a path he hadn’t imagined for himself.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards: Special Premiere (ABC – Streaming September 16)
Emmy Award-winning multihyphenates Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will be the first-ever father-son duo to host the 76th Emmy Awards, which will air from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

Child Star: Documentary Premiere (Hulu Original – Streaming September 17)
“Child Star” explores the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most well-known former child stars. Through celebrity interviews, verite scenes, and archival footage, this film deconstructs the stages of earlier stardom and looks at the entertainment system over the last century.

Demi Lovato sits down with iconic former child stars such as Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné, JoJo Siwa, Alyson Stoner, and more to reflect on their personal experiences working in the entertainment industry in never-before-heard stories. Together, they take a look at the next generation of child actors and how to move forward in an ever-changing landscape.

American Sports Story: Series Premiere (FX – Streaming September 18)
The first installment of “American Sports Story” is based on the podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc. from The Boston Globe and Wondery. The 10-episode limited series charts the rise and fall of NFL superstar Aaron Hernandez and explores the disparate strands of his identity, his family, his career, his suicide, and their legacy in sports and American culture.

Dancing With the Stars Season 33 Premiere (ABC – Streaming September 18)
Hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, the hit series pairs celebrities with trained ballroom dancers to compete in themed choreographed dance routines judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough. BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions produces the show in front of a live audience.

High Potential: Series Premiere (ABC – Streaming September 18)
Written by Drew Goddard (“The Good Place,” “The Martian”) and starring Kaitlin Olson, “High Potential” follows a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Daniel Sunjata).

Based on the popular French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI),” “High Potential” stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, Daniel Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes as Selena.

The men vying for her final rose have journeyed through the highs and lows of love, navigating moments of joy and heartbreak, and they arrive with anticipation, eager to foster a connection that sparks a future of limitless possibilities.

Little Miss Innocent: Complete Docuseries (Hulu Original – Streaming September 20)

“Rescue: HI-Surf” follows the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu—the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world. Each episode will feature these dedicated, heroic, and adrenaline-seeking first responders saving lives in the difficult and often life-threatening conditions of Hawaii’s Seven Mile Miracle.

Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal: Complete Season 1 (Hulu Original – Streaming September 24)
“Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal” takes you inside eight true crime cases with shocking encounters with the paranormal world – through eyewitness accounts, expert interviews, and all-new investigations. In each case, amidst an agonizing search for answers, one rumor emerges from the pack: something inhuman is afoot.

These in-depth investigations transport us to towns and cities across North America, where we speak to individuals with eyewitness accounts and first-person details about the extraordinary, supernatural events that changed their lives forever. In FX’s Grotesquerie, a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. “Detective Lois Tryon” feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital car,e and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of “Sister Megan,” a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian.

Frank Cooper, an actor spiraling with distractions, meets Mali Waters, a sports agent living for the present. Drawn together at the worst possible moment, as Mali faces her mortality, they must learn to love and live in the moment.

9-1-1 Season 8 Premiere (ABC – Streaming September 27)
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear reimagine the procedural drama with “9-1-1.” The series explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders — including police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers — who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking, and heart-stopping situations.

These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The show draws from real-life, high-pressure experiences of first responders who regularly face heart-stopping situations that are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time.

Doctor Odyssey: Series Premiere (ABC – Streaming September 27)
From the brilliant mind of Ryan Murphy comes the high-octane procedural “Doctor Odyssey.” Max (Joshua Jackson) is the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other miles from shore.

Lauren Greenfield returns to her roots with L.A. youth to explore social media’s effects. A character-driven series offering intimate access to the teens’ lives and phones, Social Studies promises an urgent journey into the coming of age of digital natives.

Babes (2024 – Streaming September 30)
Lifelong friends Eden and Dawn, one single and wanting a baby, the other already a mother, navigate challenges to their bond when Eden pursues pregnancy alone after a one-night stand.
