Apple TV+ August 2024 Schedule Announced
Apple TV+ has announced the programming that will be added to the streaming service next month. The Apple TV Plus August 2024 lineup includes the comedy series Bad Monkey, the heist comedy film The Instigators, Ridley Scott’s Napoleon: The Director’s Cut, the second season of the drama Pachinko, and the kids & family series Yo Gabba GabbaLand!
Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, groundbreaking documentaries, and kids and family entertainment. It is available to watch across all of a user’s favorite screens.
Apple TV+ is available on the Apple TV app in over 100 countries and regions, on over 1 billion screens, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, Mac, popular smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL and others, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles, and at the Apple site.

The Instigators (Heist Comedy Film – In Select Theaters August 2)
Doug Liman (Road House, Edge of Tomorrow, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity) directs the Apple Studios feature, starring Academy Award winners Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.
Rory (Damon) and Cobby (Affleck) are reluctant partners: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to rob a corrupt politician’s ill-gained earnings. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by the police but also by backward bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses.

Completely out of their depth, they convince Rory’s therapist (Hong Chau) to join their riotous getaway through the city, where they must put aside their differences and work together to evade capture — or worse. Yo Gabba GabbaLand! (Kids & Family Series)
The 10-episode series “Yo Gabba GabbaLand!” is inspired by the celebrated Emmy Award-nominated cultural phenomenon “Yo Gabba Gabba!” It expands the universe of “Yo Gabba Gabba!,” created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz, delighting kids and parents alike worldwide with its blend of supremely singable music, colorful live-action characters, and captivating animation.
A dazzling lineup of new friends populates the magical world of Yo Gabba GabbaLand, along with returning beloved characters Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Toodee, and Plex. Yo Gabba GabbaLand and the Gabba friends are all brought to life through the imagination of new host Kammy Kam, played by rising star Kamryn Smith.

Bad Monkey (Comedy Series)
“Bad Monkey” is the highly anticipated comedy from award-winning executive producer Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Shrinking“) and starring acclaimed actor, producer and screenwriter Vince Vaughn, who also serves as an executive producer. Based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel and enduring cult favorite, the 10-episode series makes its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on August 14, 2024, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through October 9.
“Bad Monkey” tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.

The ensemble cast also includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Scott Glenn, with special guest star John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.

Pachinko Season 2 (Drama Series)
Told in three languages — Korean, Japanese, and English — and consisting of eight one-hour episodes, season two of “Pachinko” will premiere globally on Friday, August 23, with the first episode, followed by one episode weekly every Friday through October 11.
Hailing from Media Res, “Pachinko” has been celebrated for its epic storytelling and praised as “an immersive, poignant, must-see journey.” The series quickly became Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes during its first season and has been praised as “masterful,” “extraordinary drama,” and “one of the best shows of 2022.”

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, “Pachinko” is a sweeping and deeply moving story of love and survival across four generations. The first season received 11 international awards, including a Peabody Award, an American Film Institute Award, a Critics Choice Award, and a Gotham Independent Film Award.

Napoleon: The Director’s Cut (Drama Film)
Ridley Scott‘s “Napoleon: The Director’s Cut” features 48 minutes of new, never-before-seen footage from the Academy Award-nominated historical action epic. “Napoleon: The Director’s Cut” stars Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader.
The film is a fresh and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and swift, ruthless climb to the emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine, played by Vanessa Kirby.
The director’s cut delves deeper into Josephine’s origin story and features more extravagant costumes, new larger-than-life sets, and the previously unreleased Battle of Marengo scene. The audience is also given more details about Napoleon’s demise, from his attempted assassination to his failed invasion of Russia.
