The Running Man Trailer Teases a Deadly Game of Survival

Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer and teaser poster for Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, which is set to open in theaters on November 7, 2025. The film has not yet been rated by the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

The movie is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Stephen King (which he wrote under his pseudonym Richard Bachman). It is the second adaptation of the book, following the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Running Man Trailer Teases a Deadly Game of Survival

In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward.

Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell, Chad Powers) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin, Weapons), to enter the game as a last resort.

But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.

Edgar Wright directed the film from a script he wrote with Michael Bacall. Simon Kinberg, Nira Park, and Edgar Wright are the producers.

The cast also includes William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, and Colman Domingo.

The executive producers include George Linder, James Biddle, Rachael Prior, Audrey Chon, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary. The Running Man is a Kinberg Genre and Complete Fiction production presented by Paramount Pictures in association with Domain Entertainment.
