Netflix has revealed the official teaser trailer and first images from Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, the anime series coming to the streaming service on November 17, 2023.
In the upcoming series, Scott Pilgrim meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, but learns he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. Then things get even more complicated.
Based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is voiced by the original Scott Pilgrim vs. the World cast, including Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, and Chris Evans.
Also back are Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong.
Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski are the executive producers, writers and co-showrunners of the eight-episode series. The director is Abel Gongora (Science SARU).
Also executive producing are Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff, Adam Siegel, Michael Bacall, Edgar Wright, Nira Park, and Eunyoung Choi.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off features original songs by Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game) and a score by Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game) and Joseph Trapanese (Straight Outta Compton).
The animation studio is Science SARU (DEVILMAN crybaby, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, The Heike Story, Inu-Oh). The series comes from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Science SARU is a groundbreaking Japanese animation studio known for popular titles such as DEVILMAN crybaby (2018) and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! (2020). Their recent fusions of Japanese tradition and cutting-edge direction, 2022’s The Heike Story and Annie Awards nominee Inu-Oh, were met with international critical acclaim.
