Netflix has shared the trailer and poster for the action comedy Back in Action, which is coming to the streaming service on January 17, 2025.
It’s been almost 10 years since Cameron Diaz’s last film appearance — but we have some good news. With Back in Action, Diaz is, well, back in action alongside her Any Given Sunday and Annie co-star Jamie Foxx.
The film is officially described as follows: “Years after giving up life as CIA spies to start a family, Emily and Matt find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.”
“We’re on a mission, and we take this opportunity where people might think we’re dead, to disappear off the face of the planet and start a new life and raise our family,” Diaz told Netflix.
The cast includes Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson, and Glenn Close.
Back in Action has been rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, some suggestive references and strong language, and brief teen partying.
The movie was directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) from a script by Gordon and Brendan O’Brien. The executive producers include Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner, Brendan O’Brien, and Tim Lewis.
The producers include Jenno Topping, Peter Chernin and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett (Ford v Ferrari, Hidden Figures, Luther) for Chernin Entertainment; Beau Bauman (Central Intelligence) for Good One Productions; and Seth Gordon for Exhibit A.
