What’s New on Acorn TV in May 2024

Acorn TV has announced the titles that will be available on the AMC-owned streaming service in May 2024. The lineup adds to the service’s wide variety of acclaimed English and foreign-language dramas, engaging comedies, documentaries, and more.

The highlights include the third season of Acorn TV original Harry Wild, new episodes of The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 10, and the Acorn TV exclusive The Truth.

Harry Wild Season 3 (Acorn TV Original Series) – New Season Premieres on Acorn TV and BBC America Monday, May 13
Harry (Jane Seymour, The Kominsky Method; Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) and Fergus (Rohan Nedd, Whitstable Pearl) are hired to prove the lead singer of Ireland’s hottest boy band didn’t kill himself, find out who decapitated a woman in a busy restaurant, discover who murdered a despotic director on the set of Ireland’s leading daytime soap opera, work out how a mystery writer managed to shoot himself in a locked panic room without a gun, and more.

Meanwhile, with the agency still as busy as ever, Harry and Fergus have to find a way to balance work and life as Fergus plans to contest Paula’s (Samantha Mumba, The Time Machine, Evolution) custody claim to his sister. The series also stars Kevin Ryan (Guilt, Copper) as Harry’s son and senior police detective; Amy Huberman (Finding Joy, Striking Out) as Harry’s daughter-in-law; and Paul Tylak (Kin) and Rose O’Neill.

The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 10 (Acorn TV Exclusive Series) – New Episodes Continue Every Monday Until the Season Finale on June 3
The 10th anniversary season of The Brokenwood Mysteries sees Detectives Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea), Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland), and Daniel Chalmers (Jarod Rawiri) continue to wrestle with Brokenwood’s alarming murder rate. With the help of their curious pathologist, Dr Gina Kadinsky (Cristina Ionda), they use all manner of unconventional methods to solve the town’s more macabre and unusual crimes.

From a brutal murder with a Jurassic twist to a spooky crime scene amidst the Day of the Dead, a lovestruck dental patient, and a vicious visit to a House of Horrors, this season’s homicides capture the quirky spirit of New Zealand’s deadliest town.

The Truth (Acorn TV Exclusive Series) – New Series Premieres Monday, May 27
Israeli courtroom drama opens on the day a controversial murder case is to be given a final verdict, and an identical murder takes place. Young detective Racheli Zabatani must revisit the past to figure out the mysteries of the present.

The Acorn TV exclusive series stars Vanessa Dimitrova, Tyler Williams, and Angelita Bushey.

The Night Caller – Binge | Four Episodes
It tells the story of Tony, a Liverpool taxi driver who begins to form an unhealthy obsession with and twisted worldview of a late-night radio talk show host.


The Taste of Things – Feature Film
Set in France in 1889, the film follows the life of Dodin Bouffant (Benoît Magimel, Pacifiction, The Piano Teacher) as a chef living with his personal cook and lover Eugénie (Juliette Binoche, The English Patient, The New Look). They share a long history of gastronomy and love, but Eugénie refuses to marry Dodin, so the food lover decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her. *French-language drama

Harry and Fergus have to contend with a rival private detective, a gangster’s henchman, and an utterly baffling mystery when the girlfriend of a head chef’s decapitated head is served up on a platter. Elsewhere, Paula makes a huge, life-changing announcement, and Glenn asks his long-time girlfriend, Petra, the question.

Polly Bevan (Sarah Lancashire, Happy Valley, Julia) is a devoted mother and loyal wife to a local politician and leader of Glyngolau Council, Iwan. A disaster strikes their town when a construction site collapses, killing a group of children. Only Polly’s daughter, Leona, survives.
