Untamed Season Two Starts Production in Hawaii

Today, Netflix revealed that production for season two of the hit mystery thriller series Untamed has officially begun in Hawaii, as a new case brings Eric Bana’s Kyle Turner to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. The series will film on location on O’ahu and the island of Hawaii.

A special Hawaiian blessing was held last week to mark the start of production. Among the attendees were Eric Bana, John Wells, Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, Adriana Nassar and Paola Franco from Netflix, and Matt Devahl from Warner Bros Television.

“We’re excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite,” said showrunners and executive producers Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith.

Untamed Season One released on July 17, 2025, and debuted at #1 on the Netflix Global Top 10, remained in the top 10 for seven weeks, and became the third most-watched title on Netflix in the second half of 2025 with 92.8 million views.

In its second season, Untamed follows special agent Kyle Turner as he’s called to investigate a mysterious death in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where local tensions and the park’s volatile, living landscape become unpredictable forces.

The six-episode second season is executive-produced by Mark L. Smith, Elle Smith, Eric Bana, John Wells, and Erin Jontow via John Wells Productions; Cliff Roberts for Syndicate Entertainment; Todd Black and Tony Shaw for Escape Artists Entertainment; and Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions.
