Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable Special Coming to CBS
Timed to the historic 30th anniversary of Judge Judy, CBS will air Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable, a landmark 90-minute primetime special, airing Tuesday, Sept. 22 (8:00-9:30 pm ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming live on Paramount+ (Premium) and the next day.
This groundbreaking special reveals how the last three decades cemented Judy Sheindlin (aka “Judge Judy”) as one of television’s most iconic personalities. It also includes interviews with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and entertainment pioneers.
For three decades, Judge Judy has been a fixture in homes across America and around the world, making Judge Judy one of the most recognizable and influential personalities in television history. Audiences worldwide recognize her razor-sharp wit, unwavering common sense, and unmistakable courtroom authority, and her influence extends far beyond television.
Judge Judy tells her remarkable story in her own words, tracing her journey from a spirited childhood in Brooklyn to the New York City Family Court, where she earned a reputation as one of the toughest judges in the country, before redefining daytime television with the most successful courtroom series in syndicated history.
Hollywood A-listers including Amy Poehler, RuPaul, Samuel L. Jackson, Sherry Lansing, and Steven Spielberg are interviewed, along with Judge Judy’s son, Judge Adam Levy (Adam’s Law), and other family members, lifelong friends, former colleagues, litigants, and people whose lives she touched through the years.
Samuel L. Jackson shared, “Judy was in London, and we met and had tea together in this lobby, and people were walking by, ‘My God, Judge Judy, and that guy, that actor guy.’ But they knew her way better than they knew me.”
Steven Spielberg added, “My mom watched her religiously, and one day I asked my mom, ‘Why do you love Judge Judy as much as you do?’ and my mom said, ‘Because she’s not full of crap, she tells the truth, she calls it the way she sees it … in a way she is the voice of myself that I don’t let go out that far.’”
