20th Century Studios has revealed the final trailer for the new Alien movie, Alien: Romulus, which will open in theaters on August 16, 2024. The movie is rated R for bloody, violent content and language.
Advance tickets for the sci-fi/horror thriller are now available at Fandango or wherever tickets are sold.
Alien: Romulus is a terrifying cinematic experience from producer Ridley Scott and director/writer Fede Alvarez. It will be available everywhere in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, and other formats.
The new Alien film takes the franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers encounters the most terrifying life form in the universe.
The film stars Cailee Spaeny (Civil War), David Jonsson (Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun), and Aileen Wu.
Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (Don’t Breathe 2) based on characters Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett created.
Alien: Romulus is produced by Ridley Scott (Napoleon), who directed the original Alien and produced and directed the series’ entries Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, Michael Pruss (Boston Strangler), and Walter Hill (Alien).
Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (Charlie’s Angels), Brent O’Connor (Bullet Train), and Tom Moran (Unstoppable) serve as executive producers for 20th Century Studios.
Disney’s 20th Century Studios is an Academy Award-winning producer of theatrical feature films and critically acclaimed streaming releases. In addition to Alien, it is home to such iconic franchises as Avatar, Planet of the Apes, Predator, Die Hard, and Kingsman.
The studio is the creator of hit films, including Bohemian Rhapsody, The Greatest Showman, The Martian, Ford v Ferrari, and Free Guy. It also launched the successful Deadpool and X-Men film series, Oscar-winner West Side Story, and 2022’s Prey.
