KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along Event Hitting Theaters

To celebrate the fans of the hit film KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix announced today it will host “KPop Demon Hunters A Sing-Along Event,” a series of screenings across the U.S. and Canada on August 23 and 24.

As part of the event, HUNTR/X and SAJA BOYS fans can join together to sing their hearts out and seal the Honmoon with a one-weekend-only, limited theatrical screening event and view a sing-along version of the Netflix hit film with a theater full of singing fans.

Since its release on Netflix on June 20, KPop Demon Hunters has skyrocketed to become the most popular Netflix animated film of all time, and is the first original animated film to enter the Most Popular Movies List (English). KPop Demon Hunters (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film) has also dominated the charts this summer, boasting over 3 billion global streams to date, with breakout hit “Golden” hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In KPop Demon Hunters, when they aren’t selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.

The voice cast includes Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Joel Kim Booster, and Liza Koshy, with Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Byung Hun Lee.

KPop Demon Hunters features original music by world-renowned K-Pop writers and producers, including Teddy Park, 24, Danny Chung, IDO, Vince, KUSH and DOMINSUK of THEBLACKLABEL, EJAE, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick, Daniel Rojas, and Ian Eisendrath.

EJAE, Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami, Andrew Choi, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee, Neckwav, and Lea Salonga perform original songs for the film, as do Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE.

Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans directed the film from a screenplay by Danya Jimenez & Hannah McMechan and Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. Maggie Kang wrote the story.

Michelle L.M. Wong is the producer of the Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation project, which is co-produced by Scott Berri and Jacky Priddle. Ian Eisendrath is the executive music producer, and the score is by Marcelo Zarvos.
