AMC Networks April 2024 Programming

The AMC Networks April 2024 programming has been announced and features new episodes of the drama Parish, new episodes of Sundance Now’s crime drama The Long Shadow, and the 10th season of Acorn TV exclusive The Brokenwood Mysteries.

Shudder and AMC+ celebrate Halfway to Halloween all month long with film premieres, including Shudder Originals such as supernatural horror Baghead, starring Freya Allen (The Witcher), found footage thriller Late Night with the Devil, starring David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer), and creature feature Infested.

There will also be Shudder TV watch parties for the original series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, the second season of the AMC anthology series The Terror, and more.

These films, series, and more join an extensive catalog of compelling dramas, beloved franchises, popular films, and timely collections on AMC+, Acorn TV, ALLBLK, Shudder, Sundance Now, and anime-focused HIDIVE all month long.

Laura Conroy (Jo Joyner, Shakespeare & Hathaway) appears to have it all: a loving husband, two beautiful children, and a successful career as a lawyer. However, this perfect life is marred by cracks. The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 10 (Acorn TV Exclusive Series) – New Season Premiere Monday, April 29
The 10th anniversary season of The Brokenwood Mysteries sees Detectives Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea), Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland), and Daniel Chalmers (Jarod Rawiri) continue to wrestle with Brokenwood’s alarming murder rate. With the help of their curious pathologist, Dr Gina Kadinsky (Cristina Ionda), they use all manner of unconventional methods to solve the town’s more macabre and unusual crimes.

From a brutal murder with a Jurassic twist to a spooky crime scene amidst the Day of the Dead, a lovestruck dental patient, and a vicious visit to a House of Horrors, this season’s homicides capture the quirky spirit of New Zealand’s deadliest town.

The Brokenwood Mysteries

Murdoch Mysteries Season 17 (Acorn TV Exclusive Series) – New Episodes Continue Every Monday
The new season begins with William Murdoch and Julia Ogden racing to discover the true intentions of their mysterious captors so that they can escape and resume their lives in Toronto. Constable Crabtree and Effie will find their domestic bliss interrupted by an urgent mission that emerges from Crabtree’s past, and Station House #4 will be in a state of tension as Brackenreid’s place in the constabulary remains in question.

Llewellyn Watts resumes work as a detective, determined to live his truth and pursue happiness on his own terms, while Violet Hart will thrive in her new romance with Isaiah Buchanan. However, the future of the Star Bright Club hangs by a thread, as does Violet’s fortune when she is brought to court by the family of her dead husband.

Social media influencer Niecy Fields (Christina Cooper, Dear White People, Never Heard) rises to the cusp of stardom… only to be thrown into a fight for her life and the lives of those closest to her. The additional cast includes Kiki Haynes (For Better or Worse, All the Queen’s Men) and Hasaan Gilmer (Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Blue Bloods).

My Mane Problem Season 2 (ALLBLK Original Series) – New Season Premieres Thursday, April 25
Celebrity stylist Dr. Boogie is back for My Mane Problem’s second season, giving renewed hope and self-confidence to real people confronting very personal hair journeys. A bad hairstyle can look, feel, and be life-ruining. However, Dr. Boogie is here to transform individuals in an amazing way and dig deeper to fix what’s going on inside and outside their heads.

Supa Girlz

Supa Girlz (ALLBLK Original Series) – Season Finale Thursday, April 11
Supa Girlz follows a season in the life of one of the best high school dance teams in the country: the Miami Northwestern “G Girls.” Led by a boldly unapologetic and visionary director, Traci Young-Byron, the G Girls have become a trend-setting viral sensation whose successes and struggles reflect those of the neighborhood they call home: Liberty City, Miami.

In the final episode, while the football team’s season has ended, the band and G Girls learn that they are one of a select number of high school teams chosen to perform at the highly-attended HBCU Invitational in Orlando.

Parish (AMC Original Series) – New Episodes Continue on Sundays on AMC and AMC+ Until the Season Finale on May 5
An action-packed drama, Parish stars and is executive produced by Emmy and SAG Award-nominee and Critics Choice Award-winner Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Mandalorian) as Gracian “Gray” Parish, a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in New Orleans. After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gray on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate.

The six-episode series features a prominent ensemble cast of Zackary Momoh (The Nevers, Harriet, Doctor Sleep) as New Orleans-based Zimbabwean gangster The Horse; SAG Award-nominee Paula Malcomson (Watchmen, The Hunger Games, Ray Donovan) as Parish’s wife and mother to his two children, Rose; and Skeet Ulrich (Scream, Riverdale) as an old acquaintance to Gray, Colin.

Bradley Whitford (The West Wing, Get Out, The Handmaid’s Tale) recurs as Anton, the charming and intelligent face of industrial business in Louisiana who covertly heads a criminal organization. His dispute with The Horse’s human trafficking ring puts him at direct odds with Parish.

Mayhem! – New Film Premieres Friday, April 12 (AMC+ Exclusive Film)
From director Xavier Gens (Gangs of London), this revenge thriller tells the story of Sam (Nassim Lyes), a professional boxer about to be released from prison in France. While on parole, his past catches up with him, and he is forced to flee the country.

Five years later, he rebuilt a simple life on an exotic island in Thailand with his wife Mia and her daughter Dara, who worked multiple jobs to support his family and buy a piece of land to build a restaurant. As his life begins to improve, a job gone wrong puts Sam in the crosshairs of local crime lord Narong (Olivier Gourmet), who retaliates with brutal violence. Crushed but still alive, Sam is left with only one purpose: to seek merciless and bone-breaking vengeance.

Tokyo’s Shibuya City comes alive in the new original anime Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night. The unique slice-of-life, coming-of-age ensemble drama will premiere this April exclusively on HIDIVE. Shibuya is a city full of identity.

It is here on Shibuya’s late-night streets that illustrator Mahiru Kozuki, former idol Kano Yamanouchi, Vtuber Kiui Watase, and composer Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi—four young women who are slightly outside the world—join together to form an anonymous artist group called JELEE.

“I” also want to shine like someone else. If it’s not me but “we,” then we might be able to shine. With direction by Ryohei Takeshita and writing by Yūki Yaku, Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is produced by Doga Kobo, the studio behind 2023’s global smash hit Oshi no Ko. It is streaming in Japanese with English Subtitles.

Whisper Me a Love Song

Whisper Me a Love Song (HIDIVE Exclusive) – Simulcast Premiere in April
Romance is in the air this April with the arrival of Whisper Me a Love Song, the new HIDIVE exclusive series based on the hugely popular yuri manga series created by Eku Takeshima. After performing a song at her school’s opening ceremony, musician Yori Asanagi receives an apparent love confession from freshman Himari Kino.

But just as Yori decides she wants to return Himari’s feelings, Himari reveals that she did not “love” her but “admires” her! But you can’t unring a bell once struck, and Yori is determined to make Himari fall for her, not just her music. Will their hearts ever beat as one, or will their love fall out of tune?

Produced by Cloud Hearts and Yokohama Animation Laboratory, Whisper Me a Love Song is directed by Akira Mano and written by Hiroki Uchida. Streaming in Japanese with English Subtitles.

The exciting second season of Urusei Yatsura comes to a close this spring when part two (Cour 4) of the fan-favorite sci-fi romcom premieres in April exclusively on HIDIVE. When an alien race known as the Oni invade Earth, the chronically unlucky and unapologetically lecherous Ataru Moroboshi is selected as humanity’s representative in a duel for the fate of the planet!

His opponent is Lum, the Oni’s very pretty princess, and it’s only thanks to Ataru’s unscrupulous behavior that he’s able to scrape out a win in a treacherous game of tag against her. Ataru thinks he’s had his lucky break at last, but when Lum takes a shine to him off the battlefield, the conflict follows him home as Lum invades not only planet Earth but also the womanizing Ataru’s love life!

Following the death of her estranged father (Peter Mullan), Iris (Freya Allan) learns she has inherited a run-down, centuries-old pub. She travels to Berlin to identify her father’s body and meet with The Solicitor (Ned Dennehy) to discuss the estate.

Little does she know that when the deed is signed, she will become inextricably tied to an unspeakable entity that resides in the pub’s basement–Baghead, a shape-shifting creature that can transform into the dead. Two thousand in cash for two minutes with the creature is all it takes for desperate loved ones to ease their grief.

Infested (Shudder Original Film) – New Film Premieres Friday, April 26
Director Sébastien Vanicek makes his feature film debut with a story that follows Kaleb, who is about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over a matter of inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend. Fascinated by exotic animals, he finds a venomous spider in a bazaar and brings it back to his flat.

It only takes a moment for it to escape and reproduce, turning the whole place into a dreadful web trap. Starring Théo Christine (Suprêmes), Finnegan Oldfield (Final Cut), Jérôme Niel (Smoking Causes Coughing), Sofia Lesaffre (Les Misérables), and Lisa Nyarko.
