The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer and Poster Debut
Illumination and Nintendo have unveiled the official trailer and poster for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures beginning April 3, 2026.
The returning voice cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
During the Nintendo Direct for the trailer this morning, it was announced that Brie Larson will voice Rosalina and Benny Safdie will voice Bowser Jr. in the highly anticipated sequel.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be released on April 3, 2026, in the US and many additional markets globally, and on April 24, 2026, in Japan, with select territories releasing throughout April.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. It follows The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released in 2023 and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
Both the 2023 film and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The film will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score.
The new movie has not yet been rated by the Motion Picture Association (MPA), but the first film was rated PG for action and mild violence.
