The newly revealed concept art for The One Piece captures a moment in Windmill Village, where the story’s protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, spent his childhood. The scene shows Luffy enjoying a lively time at the village bar, Partys Bar, alongside the visiting Red-Hair Pirates captain Shanks and first mate Benn Beckman, and the bar’s owner, Makino.

Rendered with a warm and gentle touch, the visual shows Shanks smiling at Luffy’s boundless energy, while Makino’s expression and the cozy atmosphere of the bar hint at the unexpected kindness of the Red-Hair Pirates, despite their fearsome reputation. It is a snapshot of a precious moment in Windmill Village — the place where Luffy’s great adventure begins.

Season 1 will cover approximately the first 50 chapters of the original manga, spanning seven episodes all at once with a total runtime of around 300 minutes, leading up to Luffy’s encounter with Sanji, the sous chef of the floating restaurant Baratie.

Masashi Koizuka is the director, and Hideaki Abe is the assistant director. The One Piece composition is by Taku Kishimoto. The character design is by chief animation directors Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda.

The creature design and image boards are by Yasuhiro Kajino. The prop design is by Eri Taguchi. Ken Imaizumi and Shuhei Fukuda are the action animators, and Ryoma Kawamura is the animation producer of the Netflix series.
