The Crow First Look Featuring Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs
Lionsgate has shared the first three photos from The Crow, the modern reimagining scheduled to open in theaters on August 23, 2024. The film has been rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, language, sexuality/nudity, and drug use.
Bill Skarsgård (John Wick: Chapter 4, IT films) and FKA twigs star in The Crow, which is based on the graphic novel by James O’Barr.
In the movie, soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them.
Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.
Directed by Rupert Sanders (Ghost in the Shell, Snow White and the Huntsman) from a script by Zach Baylin and William Schneider, the movie also stars Danny Huston.
The producers are Edward R. Pressman, Samuel Hadida, Victor Hadida, John Jencks, and Molly Hassell.
Four films have been made in The Crow franchise. The 1994 original was directed by Alex Proyas and starred Brandon Lee, who tragically died on set.
The original was followed by three less successful movies, including The Crow: City of Angels (1996), The Crow: Salvation (2000), and The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005). Only City of Angels received a full theatrical release, and the latter two went directly to video.
