Task Premiere Date and Trailer Revealed by HBO
HBO has revealed the premiere date and official trailer for its upcoming Original drama series Task, from creator Brad Ingelsby (Emmy nominee for Mare of Easttown).
The Task premiere date has been set for Sunday, September 7, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. The season’s seven episodes will debut weekly and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent (Mark Ruffalo) heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey).
The cast includes Mark Ruffalo as Tom, Tom Pelphrey as Robbie, Emilia Jones as Maeve, Jamie McShane as Perry, Sam Keeley ad Jayson, Thuso Mbedu as Aleah, Fabien Frankel as Anthony, Alison Oliver as Lizzie, Raúl Castillo as Cliff, Silvia Dionicio as Emily, Phoebe Fox as Sara, and Martha Plimpton as Kathleen McGinty.

Brad Ingelsby is the creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer. His credits include The Dynamiter (2011), Out of the Furnace (2013), Run All Night (2015), American Woman (2018), Our Friend (2019), The Way Back (2020), Mare of Easttown (2021), and Echo Valley (2025).
Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield are the directors and executive producers.

The executive producers also include Mark Roybal and Paul Lee for wiip; Mark Ruffalo; David Crockett; and Ron Schmidt. The co-executive producers include Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches for Public Record.
Principal photography for Task began in March 2024 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia.
