The Walt Disney Studios today announced a March 21, 2025 release for Disney’s Snow White, a live-action reimagining of the classic 1937 film. The film was previously scheduled for a March 22, 2024 release.
The film stars Rachel Zegler (upcoming The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, West Side Story).
Disney‘s Snow White invites audiences back into the magical world of Snow White with beloved songs and recognizable characters such as the Evil Queen and, of course, Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc.
The film is directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), produced by Marc Platt (The Little Mermaid) and includes original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman).
In addition to Rachel Zegler, the cast also includes Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, and Colin Michael Carmichael and Dujonna Gift as other dwarves.
The screenplay is by Greta Gerwig, of Barbie fame, and Erin Cressida Wilson.
Filming for the anticipated project took place primarily at Pinewood Studios, England from March to July of 2022. Shooting was originally set to begin in March 2020 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but it was delayed due to the pandemic.
