The Magic Returns in the Practical Magic 2 Teaser
Following its debut at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week, Warner Bros. Pictures has brought online the teaser trailer for Practical Magic 2, which opens in theaters on September 11, 2026.
Starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, Practical Magic 2 returns to a world steeped in moonlit mischief and powerful ancestral magic, as the Owens sisters must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all in a must-see cinematic event of fun, magic, and mayhem.
In addition to Bullock and Kidman, the cast includes Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Lee Pace, Joey King, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.
Directed by Susanne Bier, Practical Magic 2 was written by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. The producers include Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Denise Di Novi.
The new film is based on Alice Hoffman’s The Book of Magic, her 2021 sequel to the 1995 novel Practical Magic.
Principal photography for the sequel began on July 18, 2025, at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, England. Production wrapped on September 13, 2025.
The October 1998 film was set in a small, contemporary New England town, where two sisters from a family of witches find that falling in love is the trickiest spell of all. They struggle to use their gift for magically guiding fate to overcome their family curse: The men they fall in love with are doomed to an untimely death.
The movie grossed $94.4 million at the global box office, with $46.7 million coming from North American theaters and $47.7 million from international markets. It was rated PG-13 for some violence, intense thematic elements, and sensuality.
