Paramount has announced the lineup of movies, TV shows, and live sports coming to the Paramount+ streaming service in December. The Paramount Plus December 2024 schedule includes the ‘Tis the Season for Streaming collection, the holiday movie Dear Santa, a new SpongeBob SquarePants holiday special, and the return of America’s favorite antihero in the prequel Dexter: Original Sin.
The Paramount+ Holiday collection ‘Tis The Season for Streaming is back, providing jolly good fun and entertainment for everyone in your gingerbread house, with new and returning titles across 20 expertly curated carousels, including “Seasons Greetings,” “Laughing All the Way,” “Falalala Family Fun,” and “Under the Mistletoe.”
This holiday, Jack Black is not Santa. The first Paramount+ original holiday movie, Dear Santa, comes from the Farrelly Brothers and stars Jack Black, Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, and Post Malone. When a young boy mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, a devilish Jack Black arrives to wreak havoc on the holidays.
The 25th-anniversary celebration of the world’s most beloved sea sponge continues this December with the debut of an all-new SpongeBob SquarePants holiday special, SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas. Sandy Cheeks’ latest invention leads to a Christmas catastrophe that leaves Santa unable to deliver presents to Bikini Bottom. To save Christmas, the Cheeks family must team up to deliver all the gifts in time and discover the true meaning of the holiday season along the way.
Is it nature, nurture, or a spattering of both that makes someone into a murderer? Find out this month when everyone’s favorite avenging serial killer returns in a thrilling origin story that peels back the layers that comprise Dexter Morgan. Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin explores the emergence of the titular character’s bloodthirsty urges as he learns, under the guidance of his father, Harry, how to channel his inner darkness with a Code designed to help him eliminate society’s irredeemable.
Paramount+ is also home to CBS Sports’ marquee matchups this holiday season, streaming some of the biggest games, including the NFL on CBS on Thanksgiving Day featuring the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions. NFL on CBS action continues through the holiday season with live, local-market NFL games every Sunday, including December 22 and 29.
The feast of holiday programming continues with festive events on CBS that Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers can stream live as they air, such as the National Christmas Tree Lighting, Josh Groban & Friends Go Home for the Holidays, and more. Paramount+ will also make comedy holiday wishes come true with the streaming premiere of the CBS original holiday movie Nugget is Dead? A Christmas Story**, An Evening with Dua Lipa, and Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas.
Favorite CBS original series will also spread holiday cheer with themed episodes streaming on Paramount+ throughout December, including Matlock** (Dec. 5), Elsbeth** (Dec. 5), The Equalizer** (Dec. 8), NCIS** (Dec.16), NCIS: Origins** (Dec.16), Ghosts** (one-hour holiday special on Dec. 19), and The Price Is Right at Night** (Dec. 24).
