Greenland 2: Migration is a sequel to the hit Greenland (read our review), which was distributed theatrically via STX and its international partners in the summer of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the pandemic, the film opened at #1 at the box office in 26 countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Russia, grossing more than $52 million internationally. In the United States, the film was a huge performing title on Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) before its successful run on HBO Max.
Produced for approximately $35 million, the original was released domestically by STXfilms through PVOD on December 18, 2020, and subsequently made available on HBO Max. The international rollout of the film began in Belgium on July 29, 2020.
