New Borderlands Trailer Revealed by Lionsgate

Lionsgate has brought online the new Borderlands trailer, which features more footage from the sci-fi adventure based on the video game series. The film will open in theaters on August 9, 2024.

Directed by Eli Roth from a script by Roth and Joe Crombie, Borderlands is based on the video game created by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. The film has been rated PG-13 by the MPA for intense sequences of violence and action, language, and some suggestive material.

In Borderlands, Lilith (Cate Blanchett), an infamous treasure hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramirez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B.

She forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland (Kevin Hart), once a highly respected soldier, but now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), the scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a persistent wiseass robot.

These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.

The cast includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramirez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Ari Arad, Avi Arad, and Erik Feig produced Borderlands. The executive producers are Tim Miller, Ethan Smith, Louise Rosner, Emmy Yu, Lucy Kitada, Christopher Woodrow, K. Blaine Johnston, Randy Pitchford, and Strauss Zelnick.
