New Anemone Trailer with Day-Lewis, Bean, and Morton

Focus Features has revealed the new trailer for Anemone, the upcoming drama that marks the directorial debut of Ronan Day-Lewis. The film will open in select theaters on Friday, October 3, and then expand on Friday, October 10.

Anemone explores the complex and profound ties that exist between brothers, fathers, and sons. Daniel Day-Lewis and Ronan Day-Lewis co-wrote the film, from Focus Features and Plan B.

Anemone will star Daniel Day-Lewis in his first acting role since Focus Features’ Phantom Thread in 2017, alongside Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley, and Safia Oakley-Green.

The producers include Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Daniel Day-Lewis and Brad Pitt are the executive producers of the film.

Ben Fordesman (Love Lies Bleeding) is the director of photography, Jane Petrie (The Crown) is the costume designer, and Chris Oddy (Zone of Interest) is the production designer.

“We could not be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on his first feature film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as his creative collaborator,” said Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski previously. “They have written a truly exceptional script, and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.”

Ronan Day-Lewis is an accomplished painter and filmmaker whose work has been shown widely in the United States. His debut international solo exhibition opens on October 2nd in Hong Kong, with additional upcoming shows in New York City and Los Angeles.

Universal Pictures International will distribute the film internationally on behalf of Focus. The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has rated the film R for language throughout.
