Showtime has revealed the official trailer for Let the Right One In, the thriller drama series coming to streaming and on demand for all Showtime subscribers on Friday, October 7.
The show will make its on-air debut on Sunday, October 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. You can watch the trailer using the player below.
Led by Oscar nominee Demián Bichir (A Better Life), the 10-episode series from Tomorrow Studios (Snowpiercer) also stars Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls, Power), Grace Gummer (Mr. Robot), and Madison Taylor Baez (Selena: The Series).
Inspired by the original hit Swedish novel (Order Now) and film, the series centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire.
Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.
With these emotionally charged and terrifying ingredients as a starting point, Let the Right One In will upend genre expectations, turning a naturalistic lens on human frailty, strength and compassion.
Let the Right One In is executive produced by award-winning playwright, writer and producer Andrew Hinderaker (Away, Penny Dreadful) who also serves as showrunner.
Seith Mann (Homeland, #FreeRayshawn, Raising Dion) is also an executive producer and directed the pilot, as well as multiple episodes. Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements are executive producers for Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partnership).
Alissa Bachner is co-executive producing, and Bichir serves as a producer on the series.
“Let the Right One In quickly establishes itself as a thrilling, high-stakes drama that asks the question: How far would you go to save your child from the monsters out there – would you risk becoming a monster yourself?” said Amy Israel, Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming, Showtime Networks Inc.
“Demián Bichir is one of the world’s most dynamic and engrossing actors, and his charisma and vulnerability will surely bring Andrew Hinderaker’s exquisite script to life, guided by Seith Mann’s deft direction. We couldn’t be more excited about the potential of this show.”
“The series is both a love letter to the original film, and a story entirely our own,” added Hinderaker. “And casting a true artist like Demián epitomizes our bold aspiration to be one of the most terrifying shows on TV, and one of the most moving.”
Bichir received an Oscar nomination for his performance in the film A Better Life, becoming the first Mexican-born actor to be nominated in that category since Anthony Quinn. He also received an Independent Spirit Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for that performance.
