HBO Sets Global Premiere for Spanish Drama Rage
The new HBO Original series Rage (also known as “Furia”) will debut globally on the platform with two episodes on Friday, July 11, followed by new episodes weekly.
Created and directed by Félix Sabroso and produced in Spain by Producciones Mandarina, the series brings together five actresses on screen together for the first time: Carmen Machi, Candela Peña, Cecilia Roth, Nathalie Poza, and Pilar Castro.

The cast also includes Claudia Salas, Alberto San Juan, Ana Torrent, Claudia Roset, Mima Riera, Pedro Casablanc, Marilu Marini, Iván Pellicer, Francesc Garrido, Martxelo Rubio, and Pepón Nieto, among others.
Rage is a contemporary portrait of five women: five female characters who lead this surprising, realistic, and intense drama.

Five women who are ready to do anything in the face of extreme situations such as extortion, oppression, deceit, exclusion, or manipulation in a single shared universe articulated around five conflicts that will develop like a butterfly effect – one as a consequence of the other – and so on to shared catharsis.
The series is a kaleidoscopic portrait of the current social moment with high doses of irony and humor.

Marga (Carmen Marchi) is a snobbish artist. Roberto (Alberto San Juan), her husband, a television director, is involved with Tina (Claudia Salas), the maid, and has got her pregnant.
Vera (Pilar Castro), Marga’s friend, is a media-loving cook who has to close her business due to the illness of an incisive critic. Nat (Candela Peña) is a high-fashion shop assistant. Marga and Vera are her clients.

Nat is threatened when the company changes its staff and hires younger people. Adela (Nathalie Poza), Tina’s mother, is unemployed and is about to be evicted, along with her elderly mother, by her cruel landlord.
Victoria (Cecilia Roth), Adela and Nat’s neighbor, is a forgotten actress from the 1970s’ erotic cinema. Victoria receives an offer that could be her comeback, but in fact, it is a deception. These five women go to the limit and perpetrate revenge, but not even they are spared in this contemporary satire.

Rage, a series of eight 30-minute episodes, is created and directed by Félix Sabroso. Alberto Carullo, Antonio Trashorras, David Ocaña, and José María Caro are the executive producers for Max (soon to be called HBO Max).
Santi Botello and Tedy Villalba Jr. are executive producers for Producciones Mandarina.
