Today, we have a new video from PlayStation featuring Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Guild) recapping God of War along with Mimir from the game before the release of God of War Ragnarok. You can check out the video in the player below!
The original game featured Kratos and his son Atreus. Their wife and mother, respectively, dies, and they set out on a journey to scatter her ashes at the top of the highest peak in the Nine Realms, as per her request.
Along the way, Kratos, who is mourning his past and his glory as a god, must not only battle those they meet along the way, but find a new way to relate to his son, who is in mourning.
The sequel to the game will be released on November 9, 2022. You can pick up God of War Digital Deluxe Edition for $9.99 USD during the PlayStation Store Summer Sale through August 17.
From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 game God of War (See on Amazon). Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as they prepare for the prophesied battle that will end the world.
Together, Kratos and Atreus venture deep into the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for war. Along the way, they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, gather allies from across the realms, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters.
As the threat of Ragnarok grows ever closer, Kratos and Atreus find themselves choosing between the safety of their family and the safety of the realms…
Atreus seeks knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of “Loki” and what role he is to play in Ragnarok. Kratos must decide whether he will be chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free of his past to be the father Atreus needs.
The Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Guardian Shield return alongside a host of new abilities for both Kratos and Atreus. As they take on gods and monsters from across the Nine Realms, Kratos’ deadly Spartan skills will be tested like never before as he fights to protect his family.
Journey to dangerous and stunning landscapes while facing a wide variety of enemy creatures, monsters and Norse gods as Kratos and Atreus search for answers and allies.
God of War Ragnarok will be available for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. An upgrade option from a disc or digital PS4 game to the digital PS5 version will be offered for an additional cost.
