Watson Renewed for a Second Season by CBS
CBS announced today that its hit freshman drama series Watson has been renewed for a second season to be broadcast during the 2025-2026 television season on the network and available to stream on Paramount+.
Watson averages 6.79 million viewers each week, according to Nielsen. The premiere episode, which aired after the AFC Championship game, has been seen by 18.7 million multiplatform viewers in live plus 35 days of viewing, making it CBS’s most-watched scripted episode of the 2024-25 season.

In streaming alone, the premiere is the most-streamed scripted episode of all CBS Original series this season on Paramount+, with 7 million streaming viewers.
The Watson series stars Morris Chestnut, Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coste, and Rochelle Aytes. CBS Studios produces Watson. Craig Sweeny wrote the premiere episode and serves as showrunner and executive producer.

The additional executive producers for the premiere season include Morris Chestnut, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem MD, PhD, Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment, and Brian Morewitz. Paramount Global Content Distribution distributes the series.
Watson joins the previously renewed CBS Original series, including #1 entertainment series Tracker; #1 comedy Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage; #1 new unscripted series Hollywood Squares; and the #1 new series, Matlock. CBS has four of the five top new shows for the 2024-25 season.
