Voicemails for Isabelle First Look with Deutch and Robinson
Netflix has shared a first look at Voicemails for Isabelle, the upcoming romantic comedy written and directed by Leah McKendrick (M.F.A., Scrambled).
In the film, Jill copes with her sister’s death by leaving her voicemails chronicling her chaotic life in San Francisco. When the number is unknowingly reassigned, an elusive Austin real estate agent begins receiving the hilariously confessional messages.

Releasing globally on June 19, 2026, Voicemails for Isabelle stars Zoey Deutch, Nick Robinson, Harry Shum Jr., Lukas Gage, Ciara Bravo, Nick Offerman, Megan Danso, Gil Bellows, Toby Sandeman, and Spencer Lord.
Voicemails for Isabelle centers on Jill (Deutch), an aspiring pastry chef, who copes with the death of her little sister Isabelle (Bravo) by continuing to leave her voicemails. But when Isabelle’s phone number gets reassigned to an enigmatic real estate agent, Wes (Robinson), things get a little complicated.

Wes hears Jill gripe about her exacting boss, Chef Bastien (Offerman), relaying dating horror stories, and lamenting her never-ending search for a breakfast taco in San Francisco, and he starts to fall for her, sight unseen.
“Voicemails cannot be edited or rewritten,” said Leah McKendrick. “They’re usually messy, awkward, inarticulate — sometimes confessional. Like a stream of consciousness, they always go a little off the rails.”

As far as working with the cast, McKendrick added, “If this were middle school, Lukas and Zoey would have to be separated. They make each other laugh uncontrollably.”
McKendrick added, “I think we all want to believe that what makes us most special — most us — is that which cannot be seen. We all contain our own invisible, magic cocktail of heart and humor and whimsy and favorite movie quotes.”
