The Walsh Sisters to Stream on Roku’s Howdy
Howdy has acquired the exclusive U.S. rights to The Walsh Sisters, the acclaimed Irish drama based on Marian Keyes’s best-selling novels. Following its successful debut on RTÉ One and the BBC, the first episode of the series will premiere in the U.S. on Thursday, November 5.
New episodes will roll out weekly, exclusively on Howdy. Season 2 will follow later in 2027, coinciding with its anticipated UK and Ireland release. The deal was brokered by Elias Patlakas on behalf of Roku.

Blending humor, heartbreak, and the complexities of sisterhood, The Walsh Sisters follows five Irish sisters as they navigate addiction, relationships, family feuds, and the complicated bonds that hold them together.
It stars Louisa Harland (Derry Girls), Caroline Menton (Oddity), Danielle Galligan (House of Guinness), Máiréad Tyers (Extraordinary), Stefanie Preissner (who also adapted the series), Aidan Quinn, and Carrie Crowley.
Kefi Chadwick (Rivals, Death in Paradise) wrote two episodes, and the series is directed by Ian Fitzgibbon (Hullraisers, Moone Boy). The series became RTÉ’s highest-rated drama in two years, resonating with audiences through its heartfelt exploration of family, love, and personal growth.
“Howdy was built to make great entertainment affordable, and ‘The Walsh Sisters’ is a perfect example,” said Robin Chackom, Vice President, Head of Howdy. “It’s a premium drama with real heart and humor that has already resonated with audiences, critics, and fans of the best-selling book series by Marian Keyes. We’re thrilled to bring it to U.S. viewers exclusively on Howdy.”
“After catching the eyes and hearts of audiences around the globe, we’re thrilled that US viewers will have the chance to fall in love with The Walsh Sisters,” said Stephanie Coon, VP Sales, Americas, Cineflix Rights.
“Their special blend of family drama, trauma, and humor in the face of it all is the kind of emotional honesty audiences crave. Season 1 had me hooked from the jump, and I am delighted that Howdy subscribers will be able to discover the Walsh family for themselves and follow their journey in the upcoming Season 2.”
Launched in August 2025, Howdy is an ad-free streaming service offering more than 10,000 hours of entertainment from partners including FilmRise, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
