The Map That Leads to You Trailer and Art Revealed
Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer and teaser art for The Map That Leads to You, which is scheduled to premiere on August 20, 2025. The film is based on the novel of the same name by J.P. Monninger.
Directed by Lasse Hallström (Dear John, Safe Haven), the romantic drama stars Josh Lucas, KJ Apa, Madelyn Cline, Madison Thompson, Sofia Wylie, and Orlando Norman.

The Map That Leads to You follows Heather (Cline), a young woman setting off on an adventure across Europe with her best friends before settling into her perfectly planned life. When she crosses paths with Jack (Apa), a magnetic and mysterious stranger, their instant spark ignites an emotional journey neither of them expected.
As their connection deepens, secrets, life choices, and hidden truths will test their bond—and change her life in ways she never imagined. The adaptation of J.P. Monninger’s novel explores love, destiny, and the courage to choose one’s own path.

With a runtime of 96 minutes, The Map That Leads to You has been rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for some strong language, sexual material, partial nudity, and drug references.
The screenplay is by Vera Herbert and Les Bohem, who wrote the story. The Prime Video release is produced by Martin Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, John Fischer, and Isaac Klausner. Hal Sadoff and Matt Luber are the executive producers of the movie.

The novel is officially described as follows: “Everyone remembers the summer after college, a time in life when everything is a possibility and heartbreak is never too near. Heather has graduated from college and is traveling around Europe with her two best friends.
“She’s left school responsibility behind, and adult responsibility is looming, but this is her one last summer to be free.

“Heather doesn’t expect to even meet Jack, let alone fall in love with him. Jack is an enigmatic Vermonter, a few years older than she is, who is following his grandfather’s journal to various cities around Europe.
“But in the same way that forces are bringing Jack and Heather together, life and duty are pushing them apart. And Jack has a secret that is going to change absolutely everything.”
