In the wake of their climactic escape from Dennison, Luke and his friends search for a way to end the Institute for good. Meanwhile, the Director enlists a new ally, tech billionaire Nolan Reeves, to help him rebuild, and Sigsby’s life as a fugitive pushes her to seek a way back “in.”
The Institute Season 2 stars Joe Freeman (Luke Ellis), Ben Barnes (Tim Jamieson), Mary-Louise Parker (Ms. Sigsby), Alfie Allen (Nolan), Simone Miller (Kalisha), Fionn Laird (Nicky), Arlen So (George), Robert Joy (Dr. Hendricks), and Hannah Galway (Wendy)
Directed by Jack Bender from a teleplay by Benjamin Cavell, the series is executive produced by Stephen King, Jack Bender, Benjamin Cavell, Gary Barber, Sam Sheridan, Ed Redlich, and Michael Mahoney.
When the series was renewed, Stephen King said, “Set free but hunted, new dangers await the escapees from the Institute, and I can’t wait.”
“We’ve been so gratified by the response to our first season, which is a testament to the dedication of our fantastic cast and crew. We’re thrilled that Michael Wright and everyone at MGM have enabled us to continue Stephen’s powerful and timely story,” added Bender and Cavell.
They continued, “From this project’s inception, we’ve felt there would be much more story to tell as our brilliant characters continue to navigate their way through the dangers of the world they’re facing.”
“The Institute has thrilled audiences with its distinctive storytelling and exceptional performances that expertly bring the singular voice of Stephen King to the screen,” said Michael Wright, head of MGM+. “We’re so happy to be able to continue and expand this chilling journey and dive even deeper into the secrets of The Institute in season two.”
