The Garfield Movie Trailer Featuring Chris Pratt

Sony Pictures has revealed the new trailer for The Garfield Movie, which will be opening in theaters on May 24, 2024. The animated family comedy is based on the Garfield characters created by Jim Davis.

The Garfield Movie was rated PG for action/peril and mild thematic elements by the MPA.

In the film, Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt) is the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat who is about to have a wild outdoor adventure.

After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

In addition to Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson, the voice cast includes Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang.

Directed by Mark Dindal, the film was written by Paul A. Kaplan & Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds. The producers are John Cohen, Broderick Johnson, Andrew A. Kosove, Steven P. Wegner, Craig Sost, and Namit Malhotra.

The executive producers include Jim Davis, Bridget McMeel, David Reynolds, Scott Parish, Carl Rogers, Tom Jacomb, Crosby Clyse, Chris Pflug, Simon Hedges, Louis Koo, Steve Sarowitz, Justin Baldoni, and Peter Luo.

20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios) previously released the live-action/computer-animated film Garfield: The Movie in 2004 and a sequel titled Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties in 2006. Both films featured the voice of Bill Murray as the title character.
