The Diplomat Season 4 Premiere Date and First Look

Netflix has announced that the highly anticipated The Diplomat Season 4 will premiere on October 15, 2026. The streaming service has released the teaser trailer and photos from the upcoming eight episodes.

In The Diplomat Season 4, two marriages threaten to eat each other alive. One catastrophic moment shatters the fragile peace Kate Wyler brokered between the US and UK, as well as the crumbling marriage she’s trying to save.

While she fights to stem the bleeding, President Grace Penn and VP Hal Wyler’s conspiracy to steal Russia’s most powerful weapon hurtles the United States toward war. Kate and Todd, at best an uneasy pair, unite to stop the Grace-Hal alliance from upending the balance of power abroad and at home.

Four Emmy nominees paint an unmissable portrait of two marriages: Keri Russell as Ambassador Kate Wyler, Rufus Sewell as Vice President Hal Wyler, Allison Janney as President Grace Penn, and Bradley Whitford as Todd Penn. The series also stars Ato Essandoh, Ali Ahn, Nana Mensah, David Gyasi, and Rory Kinnear.

“This season is built on the foursome that is Kate, Hal, Grace, and Todd. They’re two couples strapped together in one car on a crumbling roller coaster,” says Debora Cahn.

Released in 2025, the third season follows Ambassador Kate Wyler as she lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want. The old president (Michael McKean) is dead. Grace Penn is the new POTUS. And she has her eye on the Wylers.

As Kate steps into a role she never wanted, with a freedom she never expected, she finds herself with a whole new set of expectations and obstacles. The Season 3 finale suggests The Diplomat will weather more complications than ever in Season 4.
