Peacock and Sky debuted a first look at The Day of the Jackal during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. The series will premiere on Peacock and Sky on November 7.
In the series, an unrivaled and highly elusive lone assassin, the Jackal (Eddie Redmayne), makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee.
But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.
From writer and executive producer Ronan Bennett, The Day of the Jackal is based on the Frederick Forsyth novel and 1973 Universal film adaptation.
The cast includes Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, Úrsula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara.
The executive producers include Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant (Carnival Films), Sam Hoyle (Sky Studios), Sue Naegle, director Brian Kirk, and Eddie Redmayne. Frederick Forsyth is the consulting producer, Chris Hall is the producer, and Lashana Lynch is the co-executive producer.
The series comes from Carnival Films, which is a part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution distributes the show.
