The Accountant 2 Reveals New Trailer

Amazon MGM Studios has revealed the new trailer for The Accountant 2, which will open in theaters globally on April 25. The film will also have early Tax Day screenings on April 15.

Directed by Gavin O’Connor (The Way Back, The Accountant, Warrior, Miracle), the sequel has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for strong violence and language throughout.

In the follow-up, Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case.

Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), to help.

In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.

The cast includes Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons.

Written by Bill Dubuque, the film is produced by Ben Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams. The movie has a runtime of 125 minutes.

Principal photography for the new film began on March 25, 2024, in California and wrapped on August 16 of that year.

Released by Warner Bros. Pictures in October 2016, the first film was also directed by Gavin O’Connor and written by Bill Dubuque. The film stars Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Jeffrey Tambor, and John Lithgow.

The Accountant grossed $155.6 million at the global box office, with $86.3 million coming from North American theaters and $69.3 million from international markets.
