Talamasca and The Vampire Lestat Previews From SDCC

Today, AMC Networks’ Anne Rice Immortal Universe invaded San Diego Comic-Con’s Ballroom 20 with exciting panels for the debut season of Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order and the new season of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire — titled Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat — which began production last month in Toronto.

The panel for Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order, which is set to premiere on Sunday, October 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, included executive producer Mark Johnson, who oversees the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, showrunners and executive producers John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty, and series stars Nicholas Denton, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Celine Buckens.

Comic-Con attendees were thrilled by a surprise appearance by Eric Bogosian, who portrays investigative journalist and author of Interview with a Vampire, “Daniel Molloy,” and the announcement that he will reprise his role, guest-starring as a crossover character in the new series.

Produced by AMC Studios, Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order focuses on a secretive society called the Talamasca, comprised of the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe.

The show is executive produced by Academy Award-nominated Hancock (The Blind Side) and Lafferty (The Right Stuff, Halt and Catch Fire), who also serve as co-showrunners, award-winning producer Johnson and Tom Williams, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice. Hancock also directs.

The Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat panel included executive producer Mark Johnson, showrunner and executive producer Rolin Jones, composer Daniel Hart, and cast members Sam Reid (Lestat de Lioncourt), Jacob Anderson (Louis de Pointe du Lac), and Eric Bogosian, who discussed the new season.

In addition to unveiling an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at The Vampire Lestat‘s hard-rocking new feel, the panel also revealed some exciting casting for the new season, including the return of Delainey Hayles and Assad Zaman.

Also on board are Jennifer Ehle (Lioness) in the role of “Gabriella,” Ella Ballentine (Black Conflux) in the role of “Baby Jenks,” Jeanine Serralles (Apples Never Fall) as “Christine Claire,” Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven) in the role of “Marius,” and Damien Atkins (Slings & Arrows), in the role “Magnus.”

Over two seasons, Interview with the Vampire has attracted a loyal base of passionate fans and widespread critical acclaim, with the rare distinction of receiving 98-point scores for both its first and second seasons on Rotten Tomatoes and has received nominations for the Emmys, GLAAD Media Awards, Gold Derby TV Awards, Critics Choice Super Awards, amongst others.

The new season, titled The Vampire Lestat, is executive produced by award-winning producer Johnson, creator, writer and showrunner Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
