Survival of the Thickest Season 3 to Premiere in July

On Wednesday, May 6, at Michelle Buteau’s “Netflix is a Joke Show,” Wanda Sykes made a surprise appearance to announce that Survival of the Thickest Season 3 will premiere on July 2, 2026.

Netflix has also revealed the teaser for the third and final season, which you can view below.

Survival of the Thickest centers on Mavis Beaumont (Michelle Buteau). Black, plus-size, and falling in love while loving herself, Mavis works hard to grow her brand as a stylist and designer.

She’s determined not only to survive but to thrive with the support of her chosen family, a body-positive attitude, and a cute v-neck and some lip gloss. The scripted comedy is inspired by Buteau’s acclaimed book of essays.

From creator, executive producer, writer, and star Michelle Buteau and creator and executive producer Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, the series also stars Tone Bell and Marouane Zotti.

The Survival of the Thickest Season 3 guest stars include Peppermint, Liza Treyger, Garcelle Beauvais, Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley, Ashley Graham, Ronny Chieng, Ice-T, and Wyatt Cenac.

The guest list also includes Jenna Lyons, LaQuan Smith, Charles Harbison, Ashley Romans, Anthony Michael Lopez, Alecsys Proctor-Turner, Jonathan Higginbotham, Dan Amboyer, and RonReaco Lee.

A24 and Anne Hong from Mosi also serve as executive producers of Survival of the Thickest Season 3 for Netflix.
