Rise of the 49ers Trailer and Key Art Unveiled

AMC Networks today released the official trailer and key art for the upcoming four-part sports docuseries Rise of the 49ers. The limited series event explores the dramatic and iconic run of the San Francisco 49ers during the ’80s and early ’90s.

Rise of the 49ers premieres with the first two episodes on Sunday, February 1, at 9 pm ET/PT, followed by the remaining two episodes on Monday, February 2, at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+.

The trailer kicks off with Brady, a San Mateo, CA native and lifelong 49ers fan, along with team legends Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, and Steve Young as they reflect on the passion and pressure during the “Gold Rush” reign from 1981 to 1995 when San Francisco won five Super Bowls and revolutionized the sport, on and off the field.

The series chronicles the team’s rise from underdogs to pro football’s most glamorous franchise and offers a compelling look at the personalities who helped shape the sport.

Utilizing rare and never-before-seen footage from NFL Films, including video of team speeches and behind-the-scenes photos of San Francisco’s legendary head coach Bill Walsh, the series will feature incisive interviews with club legends (and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees) Montana, Rice, Young, Ronnie Lott, and Eddie DeBartolo Jr., among others.
