Outlast Season 2 Cast and Trailer Revealed

Netflix has revealed the trailer and cast for Outlast Season 2, a thrilling competition in which 16 lone wolf experts are dropped in the Alaskan wilderness and must outlast each other in a battle for a million-dollar payout.

Outlast Season 2, which will consist of eight 45-minute episodes, will premiere on the streaming service on September 4, 2024. The first six episodes will be available on Sept. 4, and the last two episodes on Sept. 11.

Netflix says that there is only one rule in the cutthroat game of Outlast: The contestants must be part of a team to win.

The contestants include Bayardo (Bayo) Hernandez, Brendon Ash, Bri Walston, Deontre (Tre) Thomas, Drake Vliem, Drew Haas, Emily Johnston, Eric Shevchenko, Joey DiDesidero, Joseph Malbrough, Julio Laboy, Meghan Buchanan, Sammy Norris, Tina Grimm, Tonia Willman, and Zach Owens.

Outlast Season 2 Cast and Trailer Revealed

The executive producers include Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Emma Ho for Aggregate Films, Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney for BBC Studios, Dan Bree, and showrunner Mike Odair.

Aggregate Films and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions are the production companies for Outlast Season 2.

Bayo Hernandez in Outcast Season 2

Bayardo (Bayo) Hernandez
Occupation: Python removal Florida state contractor/professional hunter, tracker, and trapper
Hometown: Miami

Bayo’s adventurous spirit shows through his survival experiences, like the time he spent four days on “Python Island” in the Everglades, building a shelter and protecting himself from the wild. His diverse skill set includes trapping, bow and arrow, spear hunting, python and iguana hunting, as well as gator and hog removal. Bayo fearlessly handles any challenge that comes his way. He aims to bring Miami survival techniques to the Alaskan wilderness.

Brendon Ash in Outcast Season 2

Hometown: Central Idaho

A trapper by trade, Brendon has caught every large predator under the sun; whether it be bears, wolves, or coyotes. At 19, Brendon carved his first bow and proved successful at hunting elk and squirrels. Taking out some big game is his mission, but he can also rely on his foraging knowledge to sustain himself.

Bri Walston

Hometown: Las Vegas

An accomplished bow hunter and fisherman, Bri knows how to handle herself against Mother Nature’s mercurial ways. She loves to hunt, start fires via friction, and fish. Having lived in Alaska for three years under harsh military circumstances formed her knowledge of cold weather and acute mental toughness.

Deontre (Tre) Thomas

Hometown: Austin, Texas

With the help of a few mentors in the Black hunting community and research on how his Native American ancestors lived, he became an expert at building snares and traps. But it wasn’t until he hit Texas that he learned how to bag large animals from the big game hunters. Now, he’s making his own bows and arrows and wants to be the first on Outlast to catch and kill a bear. He is currently hiking all 50 states of the USA.

Drake Vliem

Hometown: Midland, Texas

Drake is a father of four who is trying to pass down traditional ways of survival. In his town in Texas, he’s part of a group that travels to Wyoming and camps out to hunt large game on public land. Athletic and vertically blessed, Drake is going to land some big game by climbing trees and building hunting blinds far above their line of sight.

Drew Haas

Occupation: Commercial helicopter pilot
Hometown: Hallettsville, Texas

Drew is skilled at bow hunting, field dressing an animal, and building grand shelters. His primitive fishing and hunting skills give him the edge over the competition. He’s confident in his survival skills as well as his mental toughness and is most excited to hunt in Alaska and use his archery skills to take the game.

Emily Johnston

Occupation: Data Analyst
Hometown: Boulder, Colorado

Emily can identify dozens of regional plants, use flint and steel, and construct primitive shelters. She’s completed and led numerous backcountry courses involving cold weather survival, navigation, and outdoor adventure education. Throughout her life, she’s expanded her comfort zone to attain a higher mental and physical fortitude.

Eric Shevchenko

Occupation: Chef/farm-to-table restaurateur
Hometown: Saginaw, Michigan

From wild porcupines to raccoons and snapping turtles, nothing is off the table when it comes to Eric’s primal menu. There’s nothing he won’t utilize to sustain and protect his teammates and himself. His top-notch huntsmanship and cryptic botanical expertise, combined with a shrewd street sense, give Eric an unrivaled advantage in any type of wilderness.

Joey DiDesidero

Occupation: Radioactive/hazardous waste construction management
Hometown: Benton City, Washington

With roots in the Pacific Northwest and Chickasaw Indian heritage, Joey has always had an inherent passion for the outdoors and adventure. For instance, on their honeymoon, he and his wife backpacked through Europe for eight months.

His current adventure is living on a Hobby Farm with his family, where their goal is to be self-sufficient for an entire year. Life on the farm has taught him that “you only fail when you quit” and “with a strong back and a weak mind, you can accomplish anything.”

Joseph Malbrough

Occupation: Mechanic/outdoorsman
Hometown: Lafayette, Louisiana

As an elite hog hunter, Joseph is a sharpshooter with a bow and will bring home the bacon for his team. He can track both large and small game and is equipped with strong fishing skills to boot. To stave off the frigid temperatures, he will build shelters using A-frames and lean-tos.

Julia LaBoy

Occupation: Defense lawyer
Hometown: Buckeye, Arizona

A top-tier survivalist, Julio has all the tools in his belt to bring his team to victory. He can build sturdy elevated A-frames and debris shelters and will keep them warm with a variety of primitive fire-building techniques. Julio can also craft weapons and has superior physical strength due to being a former nationally ranked Master’s Olympic weight lifter.

Julio is no stranger to harsh temperatures. He excelled in the Pathfinder School’s winter skills program and has completed several winter solo camping trips, including at the Arizona Nordic Village in the dead of winter. Julio now trains regularly at the Survival University in Colorado. He also enjoys taking on 5 and 10k, 50-pound summer rucks under the searing Sonoran Desert sun.

Meghan Buchanan

Meghan Buchanan
Occupation: Rocket scientist/adventure athlete
Hometown: Vail Valley, Colorado

Meghan has extensive experience in cold conditions. She once spent seven weeks in freezing temps climbing Mount Everest and endured frostbite climbing in Antarctica. She’s climbed the Seven Summits, the highest mountains of each of the seven traditional continents. She’ll soon be one of the few women to ever complete the Explorers Grand Slam (seven summits and expeditions to the North and South Poles).

Meghan can fish, build various structures, and make fire. Her current outdoor activities include mountaineering, polar exploration, rock/ice climbing, trail running, backpacking, Nordic skiing, mountain biking, strength training, and anything else outdoors that pushes her boundaries.

Sammy Norris in Outlast Season 2

Sammy Norris
Occupation: Video creator/bushcraft
Hometown: Flag Pond, Tennessee

Sammy is great at constructing shelters, crafting tools, and carving weapons. He’s equally adept at using traditional hunting tools like the atlatl to catch small game, and he even crafts musical instruments from natural materials. His recent accomplishment of building a primitive cabin during Utah’s toughest winter demonstrates his resilience and resourcefulness in challenging environments.

Tina Grimm

Tina Grimm
Occupation: Artist/model/thru-hiker
Hometown: Simi Valley, California

Tina’s two greatest assets are her excellent navigation skills and her ability to track large and small wildlife. She’s proficient in firemaking and can craft a sturdy shelter. She also possesses unique knowledge of food storage, wild edibles, and weather patterns.

Tonia Wilman

Occupation: Fabricator/former mental health therapist/archer
Hometown: Molalla, Oregon

Tonia is a decorated archer, so she’s very confident in her bow-hunting abilities. Shelter building, primitive firemaking, and field dressing are other unbeatable skills. Tonia is an animal whisperer, and she can quickly track, kill, and butcher the game. Mental toughness is ingrained in her. She’s been through hellish situations but never lets them defeat her.

Zach Owens

Zach Owens
Occupation: Social media manager
Hometown: Melba, Idaho

Zach has tackled 14-day moose hunts in Alaska, harvested bears and elk with a recurve bow, and even used primitive tools like slingshots and spears. He’s in the top 1% of bow hunters. His ability to construct various wood shelters and understand animal behavior makes him a master of wilderness survival. As a past MMA fighter and gymgoer, he’s in the best physical shape of his life.
