Outer Banks Season 5 Date, Teaser, and Art Unveiled
Netflix has unveiled the official teaser trailer and art for Outer Banks Season 5, which will premiere on August 20, 2026. The final season of the series will consist of 10 one-hour episodes.
Outer Banks Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.
With Chandler Groff still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring the Pogues have no home to return to, John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo must rely on their scrappy instincts—and an uneasy alliance with Rafe—to keep from falling apart for good.
Their mission is now a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they’ve been chasing since the beginning. It’s the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring it on home…one final time.
The Outer Banks Season 5 cast includes Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Carlacia Grant (Cleo), Drew Starkey (Rafe), Austin North (Topper), Fiona Palomo (Sofia), J. Anthony Crane (Chandler Groff), and Cullen Moss (Shoupe).
Across its four seasons, Outer Banks has received nearly 200 million views and has been featured on the Top 10 English TV List 25 times. The series comes from creators, executive producers, and writers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke.
Netflix also announced today that fans of the hit series can now bring the sound of the Pogues home with a brand-new vinyl soundtrack collection from Seasons 1–4. Dropping just as summer fades and leaving fans chasing the sun-drenched nostalgia of the OBX, the vinyl collection is available for pre-order starting today.
The 25-track Vinyl soundtrack collection is produced by award-winning composer and producer Fill Eisler and features Sides A through D — capturing the ultimate sounds of summer and including fan-favorite scores like the “Outer Banks Main Theme,” “Pogue’s Theme,” “Endless Summer,” “Pogue’s Sunset,” and many more.

The series’ anthem “Left Hand Free” by Alt J became a viral sensation on TikTok following the release of Outer Banks Season 1 and has continued to serve as the definitive sonic backdrop for the Pogues — with a new rendition of the song featured in the Outer Banks Season 5 teaser trailer that debuted today.
The single “Where’d All the Time Go?” by Dr. Dog saw a massive resurgence on charts and became a viral hit, following its debut in Season 2.
