Orangutan, Narrated by Josh Gad, to Debut on Disney+ This Earth Day
Disneynature has released a first look at its upcoming feature film, Orangutan, narrated by Josh Gad. Debuting on Earth Day (April 22), the immersive feature introduces Indah, an inquisitive adolescent orangutan learning how to navigate life as she prepares to leave her family and venture out on her own for the first time.
Director Mark Linfield said, “After directing wildlife shows all over the world for the past 30 years, I can honestly say orangutans are my absolute favourite animal! They’re gentle, funny, smart, and always surprising.”

Linfield added, “Josh Gad’s narration has really captured their spirit, and the camera team managed to film a whole new side of their lives that viewers won’t have seen before. I can’t wait for people to watch this one.”
Disneynature’s Orangutan takes viewers high in the treetops of the world’s most majestic rainforest canopy in Southeast Asia, where a magnificent and mysterious community filled with playful personalities lives.

Orangutan is directed by Mark Linfield, co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz, and produced by Linfield, Berlowitz, and Roy Conli, with original music by Nitin Sawhney.
Featuring exhilarating action, heartwarming encounters, and a close-up look at a stunning jungle teeming with wildlife, the all-new original film releases on Earth Day, April 22, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
