Focus Features’ Obsession Debuts New Trailer and Poster

Focus Features has shared the new trailer and poster for Obsession, Curry Barker’s horror film, which opens in theaters on May 15, 2026. The film has not yet been rated by the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

In the film, after breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

Written and directed by Curry Barker, Obsession stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter.

The producers include James Harris (Teashop Productions), Haley Nicole Johnson (Under the Shell), Christian Mercuri (Capstone Pictures), and Roman Viaris (Capstone Pictures).

The executive producers of the film are Jason Blum (Blumhouse), Leonora Darby (Teashop), Mark Lane (Teashop), David Haring (Capstone), and Ruzanna Kegeyan (Capstone Pictures).

Following its celebrated midnight-screening debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Obsession captivated audiences with sold-out screenings at Fantastic Fest and has also won Sitges’ coveted People’s Choice Award. The film currently holds an outstanding 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Curry Barker‘s next project, Anything But Ghosts, is also set up with Blumhouse and Spooky Pictures and will see him direct, star, and co-write with creative partner Cooper Tomlinson, who will also star.

Rock Burwell composed the score for the film, which was also edited by Curry Barker. The cinematography is by Taylor Clemons.
