Moana 2 Disney+ Release Set for March 12

Disney has set the Moana 2 Disney+ release date for March 12, 2025. The blockbuster film has grossed $1.053 billion worldwide, with $458.8 million coming from North American theaters and $594.6 million from international markets.

The highly anticipated sequel to the Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) fan favorite is the #3 highest-grossing film of 2024 and is the fourth WDAS film ever to cross the billion-dollar mark (following Frozen, Zootopia, and Frozen 2).

Moana 2 Disney+ Release Set for March 12

Disney’s Moana 2 is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with critics and fans alike having hailed the film as “a fantastic voyage” (Brian Truitt, USA Today), “Gorgeous” (Tommy McArdle, People), and “a joyous adventure the whole family will love” (BJ Colangelo, /Film).

The Moana 2 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is available on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

Moana 2 reunites Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) and Maui (Dwayne Johnson) three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

The voice cast also includes Hualālai Chung, Rose Matafeo, David Fane, Awhimai Fraser, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, Rachel House, Gerald Ramsey and Alan Tudyk, who returns as Heihei.

Rated PG for action/peril, the film was directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino.

Moana 2 features music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
