Married at First Sight Moves From Lifetime to Peacock

Peacock has announced it will officially become the new home of hit reality sensation Married at First Sight following a competitive situation. The series began its impressive run in July 2014 on FYI and later aired on Lifetime.

Married at First Sight is a reality series that follows singles looking for a life-long partnership as they embark on a provocative experiment: getting legally married to a stranger the moment they first meet.

With 30 versions of the series internationally, Married at First Sight is the most localized relationship format in the world. The show is produced by Kinetic Content/Chris Coelen (Love is Blind, The Ultimatum).

The show originated in Denmark as Gift ved første blik and has been adapted in numerous countries.

In the U.S., the main show has had eight spinoffs, including the subtitled The First Year, Second Chances, Honeymoon Island, Happily Ever After, Couples’ Cam and Unmatchables, as well as the self-titled Married Life and Jamie and Doug Plus One.

Married at First Sight is the latest addition to Peacock‘s lineup of premium unscripted programming with titles including Emmy Award-winning series The Traitors, cultural hit phenomenon Love Island USA and Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s long-awaited reunion in Paris & Nicole: The Encore.

In the 18th season of the series, which premiered on Lifetime on October 15, 2024, ten singles looking for love embarked on a journey to meet the love of their lives. They married a complete stranger at the altar, traveled to their honeymoons and then moved in together as husband and wife.

After the eight-week social experiment concluded, each newlywed had to decide if they wanted to continue to stay married and start a future together or get divorced and go their separate ways.
