Jack Thorne’s Lord of the Flies to Debut on Netflix in May
Netflix announced today that the acclaimed series, Lord of the Flies, will premiere on May 4, 2026. All episodes will be available to members in the United States.
The series is created and written for the screen by Emmy-winner Jack Thorne, the Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, and PGA Award-winning co-creator of Adolescence, with Marc Munden (The Mark of Cain, National Treasure) serving as director.

The music is by Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, Kara Talve (Bleeding Fingers Music), and Cristobal Tapia de Veer.
The new Lord of the Flies adaptation is officially described as follows: “Innocence descends into savagery when a group of English schoolboys becomes desert island castaways in the first television adaptation of William Golding’s landmark dystopian classic.”

Winston Sawyers stars as Ralph, Lox Pratt as Jack, David McKenna as Piggy, and Ike Talbut as Simon.
Thomas Connor appears as Roger, Noah and Cassius Flemyng as twins Sam and Eric, Cornelius Brandreth as Maurice, and Tom Page-Turner as Bill – alongside an ensemble of more than 30 boys playing the desert island camp’s “biguns” and “littluns.”

The executive producers of the four-episode series are Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell for Eleven, Jack Thorne (Enola Holmes 3) for One Shoe Films, and Marc Munden.
