Long Story Short Trailer and Season 2 Confirmed
Netflix has revealed the official trailer for the new adult animated series Long Story Short, which is set to debut on August 22, 2025. From BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the series has already been renewed for a second season.
Bob-Waksberg commented on the news: “Wow!! A season two?! And season one hasn’t even come out yet! It must be a REALLY good show. I can’t wait to watch it when it premieres on Netflix, Friday, August 22! Let’s all do that!”

Long Story Short is an animated comedy from the creator of BoJack Horseman about one family, over time. Jumping through the years, we follow the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises.
The 10-episode series is voiced by Lisa Edelstein (Naomi Schwartz), Paul Reiser (Elliott Cooper), Ben Feldman (Avi Schwooper), Abbi Jacobson (Shira Schwooper), Max Greenfield (Yoshi Schwooper), Angelique Cabral (Jen), and Nicole Byer (Kendra Hooper).

The recurring voice guest cast members include Dave Franco (Now You See Me: Now You Don’t) as Danny Wegbreit and Michaela Dietz as Hannah Schwooper. Showrunner and writer Raphael Bob-Waksberg executive produces the show with Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen.
Lisa Hanawalt is the supervising producer, and Jack Shih is the supervising director. Toronto Television is the production studio, and the animation studio is ShadowMachine (Lil Kev). Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley co-executive produce for ShadowMachine.
