Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Promos and Tickets Go on Sale

Advance tickets for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Studios’ all-new action-adventure spectacle, are now available at Fandango or wherever tickets are sold. To celebrate, the studio has provided Vital Thrills with a new poster, a TV spot, a film clip, and a featurette.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes opens in movie theaters globally on May 10, 2024, and will be available in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and premium screens everywhere. The film was rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence/action.

Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously, and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.

As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Wes Ball (Maze Runner trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (IT), Freya Allan (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Peter Macon (Shameless), and William H. Macy (Fargo).

The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Avatar: The Way of Water), and Patrick Aison (Prey), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver.

Anaya (played by Travis Jeffery), Noa (played by Owen Teague), and Soona (played by Lydia Peckham).

The producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (The Maze Runner), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Jason Reed (Mulan). Peter Chernin (the Planet of the Apes trilogy) and Jenno Topping (Ford v. Ferrari) serve as executive producers.

Planet of the Apes is one of 20th Century Studios’ most popular and enduring franchises, with a worldwide revenue of more than $1.7 billion.

Based on a novel by Pierre Boulle, the first film in the series was released by Twentieth Century-Fox in 1968 and went on to become one of the year’s biggest hits, winning a special Academy Award. It was followed by four theatrical sequels and two television series.

A remake, Planet of the Apes, directed by Tim Burton, was released in 2001. Then, a 2011 reboot, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was followed by two sequels, 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
