K-Pop: The Debut First Look From KCON LA

At KCON LA 2026 today, Paramount Pictures shared a first look at K-Pop: The Debut, a coming-of-age musical drama set to open in theaters on February 26, 2027.

In K-Pop: The Debut, Lizzy Lee (Ji-young Yoo) is a young Korean-American woman who has spent her life following the path her family chose for her. But when she earns a spot in a globally televised competition to form the next K-pop girl group, she travels to Seoul, South Korea, to pursue the dream she must still keep hidden.

Surrounded by extraordinary performers from around the world, all competing for just four coveted spots, Lizzy must push herself further than she ever imagined.

As the stakes rise and the competition intensifies, an unexpected ally (Eric Nam) supports her as she finds the confidence to embrace her identity, prove she has what it takes to debut, and claim her place on the world stage.

The K-Pop: The Debut cast includes Ji-young Yoo, Eric Nam, Jitae Yoo, Tony Revolori, Gia Kim, Yim Si-wan, Ahin Lee, Aliyah Turner, Renata Vaca, Sung Jun, Kang Sora, Hyongchol Lee, Silia Kapsis, Shana Kim, and Park Jubi.

Directed by Benson Lee, the film’s screenplay was written by Elyse Hollander and Eileen Shim, based on a screen story by Hollander.
