Hit Biopic Michael to Debut on STARZ on August 10
STARZ announced today that it will be the first exclusive streaming home for Michael, the highest-grossing biopic of all time, starring Jaafar Jackson as music icon Michael Jackson.
The film premieres August 10 only on the STARZ app and all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms, giving audiences the chance to experience or revisit the $1 billion global box office sensation from home. The STARZ channel will also be home to the film’s exclusive television premiere on the same day at 7:00 pm ET/PT.
From Lionsgate, the producer of Bohemian Rhapsody and the director of Training Day, Michael is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known.
The film traces Michael Jackson’s journey from his extraordinary beginnings as the breakout star of the Jackson 5 to the visionary artist whose unmatched talent and relentless ambition made him the biggest entertainer in the world.
Featuring unforgettable performances from his early solo career and an intimate look at the man behind the music, Michael gives audiences a front-row seat to the icon like never before. This is where his story begins.
In addition to Jackson, the film stars Nia Long (Love Jones, Boyz N The Hood), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Euphoria), Laura Harrier (Hollywood, Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Miles Teller (Whiplash, The Gorge).
Joining The Housemaid and Shelter, now streaming exclusively on the platform, Michael further expands STARZ‘s blockbuster movie lineup. Also arriving in August, Beast, starring Russell Crowe, premieres exclusively on STARZ on August 8.
On the series front, new episodes of the gritty crime drama Fightland continue to debut every Friday throughout the month, while Power Book III: Raising Kanan reaches its explosive series finale on August 7.
