Fleeting Lies Trailer and Key Art Revealed by Hulu
Hulu has shared the official trailer and key art for the Spanish drama series Fleeting Lies, which will make its U.S. debut on the streaming service on Thursday, October 10. Pedro Almodóvar produces the show.
When Lucia, an executive at a high-tech beauty company, goes to work expecting a promotion and winds up accused of corporate espionage and unceremoniously fired, she goes to great lengths to hide her shame and clear her name.

Also known as Mentiras pasajeras, the series stars Elena Anaya, Pilar Castro, Hugo Silva, Quim Gutiérrez, and Susi Sánchez. The guest stars include María Botto, Pedro Casablanc, Estefanía de los Santos, and María León.
One month before her wedding and the day of her supposed big promotion, Lucía is accused of corporate espionage and fired from her job. Concurrently, Basilio, an aspiring writer, has to face the fact that he has little to fill the blank pages of his book. Unwilling to accept failure, Lucía and Basilio get themselves into a comical web of lies that will put their relationship at stake.
The producers of the series include Pedro Almodóvar, Agustín Almodóvar, and Esther Garcia. The executive producers include JC Acosta, María Cervera, Federico Cuervo, Fernando Gastón, Sebastián Vibes, Cristina Alcelay, Laura Abril, and Elena Anaya.
Paramount Television International Studios produces Fleeting Lies, which Félix Sabroso and Marta Font direct. Paramount Global Content Distribution distributes the series.
FLEETING LIES CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Lucía – Elena Anaya
Lucia’s life hasn’t been easy. After losing both her parents as a child, she becomes a doctor and starts a career in the cosmetic industry. Now, her biggest desire is to have stability in life, a house, a husband, and children, even if they are not of her own. But she is about to lose everything overnight.
Her perfectionism and eagerness to control everything take her to develop an attack plan against her betrayer, the person who put her stability at risk. This is when Lucía will become impulsive and reckless.
Maite – Pilar Castro
She has achieved great success because of her intelligence and hard work. But her love life has been very different. She has not felt desirable for a long time, and she does not believe in love or passion. As she says: “She is dead from the waist down.”
Lucía’s crisis leads her to cross paths with Santi, her friend’s archenemy: a young, handsome, and successful man. Will she believe in love again and get back the confidence she lost after her divorce?
Basilio – Hugo Silva
Basilio is a writer. He is loving, kind, intellectually brilliant, a great communicator, and an unrivaled father and partner. When he was young, he had great success with his first novel, but 20 years have gone by, and Basilio has not succeeded professionally again. However, he has run out of excuses and must write again.
Thanks to Lucía, his sponsor, he is free from previous jobs, as she financially supports the family. But Basilio is not holding up his end as he is not making any progress with the novel. Feeling like he is running out of time, the embarrassment leads him to lie about its progress.
Santi – Quim Gutiérrez
He is an aggressive and calculating executive who, as Lucía, has dedicated his whole life to building his professional career. Coming from a poor family, he has put up a front to escape his insecurities. He’s put on a mask for everyone —especially women— in order to appear confident, something he has never been.
Lucía is his worst enemy, not only because she is about to take his dream job —besides being a woman—but also because she represents everything he wants to achieve in life. However, he will find out that Lucía is not the perfect woman he secretly admires, and he will understand that the brutal fight to achieve success can sentence him to live alone forever.
Patri – María Botto
Patri is Basilio’s ex-wife and the mother of his children. She is a bold woman, very different from him and the family he has built with Lucía, who is more organized and sensible. She manages a concert hall.
Working at night made her neglect her children for many years, but that is the past. Now, she is close to her children again and to Basilio, with whom there is sexual tension.
Carmen – Susi Sánchez
Elegant, intelligent, and strict with her family, Basilio’s mother is a woman who is straightforward and does not hesitate to give opinions nobody asked for. She will witness the couple’s crazy decisions, and she will try, without much success, to contribute with some judgment to a family that clearly needs it.
