First Look at Ted Danson in A Man on the Inside

Netflix has shared a first look at A Man on the Inside (formerly known as “A Classic Spy”), a new comedy series from creator Mike Schur. Starring Ted Danson, the series premieres this November on Netflix.

Charles (Danson), a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.

A Man on the Inside is based on the documentary The Mole Agent, a 2021 Oscar nominee for Best Documentary Feature. The series will consist of eight 30-minute episodes.

The cast includes Ted Danson, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sally Struthers, Margaret Avery, and John Getz.

Susan Ruttan, Lori Tan Chinn, Clyde Kusatsu, Marc Evan Jackson, Jama Williamson, Wyatt Yang, Deuce Basco, Lincoln Lambert, and Kerry O’Malley round out the cast of the Universal Television show.

The executive producers include Mike Schur (Fremulon), Morgan Sackett, David Miner (3 Arts Entertainment), Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez (Micromundo Producciones), and Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements (Motto Pictures).

Distributor Gravitas Ventures officially described The Mole Agent as follows: “When 83-year-old Chilean Sergio is sent as an undercover spy to a retirement home to investigate suspected neglect, he learns a deeper lesson on human connection.

“Through the lens of the hidden camera in his decoy glasses, viewers watch as Sergio struggles to balance his assignment while becoming increasingly involved in the lives of several residents.”
