Bass X Machina Adult Animated Series Coming to Netflix

Today, Netflix announced Bass X Machina, a new adult animated series executive-produced by and starring Oscar, Emmy, and Tony Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry. The series will premiere on October 6, 2026.

Bass X Machina is set in a lawless Steampunk West overrun by brutal outlaws, machines, and supernatural terrors. A father is forced to become judge, jury, and executioner—knowing that every act of justice meant to protect his family may ultimately cost him the very people he’s fighting to save.

The series will feature original music by Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder at Wondaland. In addition to Brian Tyree Henry, the executive producers include LeSean Thomas, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley, and Chad Handley. Studio Mir is the animation studio.

The voice cast includes Brian Tyree Henry (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Bullet Train, Transformers One) as Bass, Janelle Monáe (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Hidden Figures) as Glory, and Tati Gabrielle (The Last of Us, You) as Dana.

The cast also includes Cree Summer (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Sabrina: The Animated Series) as Ahni, Chaske Spencer (The Twilight Saga) as Lighthorse, Currie Graham (Reacher, Assault on Precinct 13) as Rivenbark, and Starletta DuPois (One Battle After Another, The Notebook, Big Momma’s House) as Etta.

Bass X Machina joins Netflix’s robust animation slate, which includes Emmy Award-winning Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry, and upcoming series Minecraft and Clash of Clans.
